From Principal Watson:
If your community service hours are not up to date by the start of next school year, you will be placed on Social Probation until the hours are completed.
Next year, if you are entering grade 10, you must have 15 hours of community service completed by September 2nd.
If you are entering grade 11, you must have 30 hours of community service completed by September 2nd.
If you are entering grade 12, you must have 45 hours of community service completed by September 2nd.
So, what happens if you DON'T have your hours completed? You will be placed on Social Probation until your hours are up to date.
What exactly does that mean? It means that you will not be eligible for many fun social events, including but not limited to -
Parking Passes
Homecoming
Attending Extracurricular Events
Pep Rally
We want to ensure you have advanced notice of this new procedure so you have time to complete your hours. Community Service forms can be found on our school website and you have to use the summer to complete them. Please be sure you are up to date! Please reach out with any questions!

The community service requirement may be satisfied by participation in a single activity or a combination of activities. There is a list of suggested and pre-approved activities available in the Daily Bulletin (announcements) during the school year, the Guidance office and emailed directly to students' school email when we receive information from those seeking volunteers. During the summer students often volunteer at summer camps/programs and non-profit organizations.
Students are also encouraged to propose their own community service projects, but must be sure to get approval first from a high school administrator.
The 60 hour graduation requirement will be prorated for students entering BRRHS after their Freshman year.
