Students enrolled in the EXCEL program will need to meet the competency determination standard (MCAS) in order to be awarded a high school diploma.  Students will be provided opportunities to pass the MCAS during the school year.

Instruction in MCAS English/Math/Science-Technology will be part of the curriculum for those students who have not attained passing MCAS scores.  Students who have failed will have the opportunity to participate in the MCAS performance appeals process.  Students who have not passed MCAS, but fulfill the EXCEL graduation requirements will be granted a Certificate of Attainment until such time that they have passed the MCAS or have been granted competency through the appeals process.
