High School Concussion Information

HIGH SCHOOL CONCUSSION REQUIREMENTS 

 

1. CONCUSSION AWARENESS COURSE:   Annually
Per MA State Law, this course must be completed every year by BOTH the student athlete and at least one parent.  As part of the seasonal FamilyID sports registration process, both athlete & parent will be asked to sign off that the course has been completed.

You can access the free online course by Clicking Here (You will need to create an account if you don't have one.  Save this info as you will need to log-in every year.)  You no longer need to submit a copy of the certificate.

2. BASELINE NEUROCOGNITIVE TEST:   Bi-Yearly

Since the start of the 2012-2013 academic school year, per the Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School Committee, it is mandatory that all athletes, marching band members, and cheerleaders be baseline tested for neurocognition, as part of the Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District Concussion Awareness Policy.

This test is administered by the Athletic Trainer on a computer and is required every other year.

Baseline TESTING will be held on the following dates & times

     Testing Starts AT THE TIME LISTED BELOW. 

     You will NOT be allowed to enter late. 

     Meet outside 2nd floor computer lab: ROOM E218 

     WINTER Dates are: TBD

    You will NOT be allowed to enter late.

Head Injury Medical Clearance Form - please print this document and bring it to your doctor.

BRRSD Concussion Policy - copy of the policy that is included in student handbook, adopted by the School Committee.
